Aashna Rao, Esq.

Aashna is a trial lawyer who focuses on criminal defense and complex civil litigation. She represents individuals under investigation or prosecution by the Department of Justice, the New York County District Attorney's Office, and other government entities. Aashna also represents and advises individuals and companies in commercial disputes in both state and federal court.

Prior to joining Max Nicholas LLC, Aashna was a Staff Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at Brooklyn Defender Services.  As an attorney with Brooklyn Defender Services, Aashna represented hundreds of clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges in New York State and defended them through every phase of the prosecution.

Aashna graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2022.  Prior to attending law school, she worked as a paralegal in the Public Corruption Unit of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Aashna also has a bachelor's degree in global politics from New York University. She is proficient in Spanish and Hindi.
